Nitro N2

Introduction

Nitro™ N2 Solid-State Drive (SSD) is our latest enterprise class product designed to deliver uncompromised performance and efficiency in Data Center environments. Nitro N2 SSD offers enhanced read and write speeds, industry-leading random IOPS, and the highest storage density of any product on the market.

Energy Efficient

Nitro N2 was designed to offer the highest levels of performance per watt, a metric that is highly justifiable in data centers struggling to keep available IO high and energy costs low. Until now, this type of performance efficiency was unheard of in data center environments.

The Nitro is capable of providing 13,000 IOPS/watt, this is over 160X better than hard disk drive alternatives. The end result to customers is reduced short term IT spending, lower energy and maintenance costs, and higher levels of performance and reliability; this equates to a significant reduction in overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and more 'Green Friendly' operations.

Superior Performance and Storage Density

Nitro N2 accelerates performance to industry-leading levels by leveraging a multi-channel, highly parallel controller architecture called PIPA™ utilizing high-speed 32-bit DDR3 Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) for processor offloading and data buffering. The result is throughput reaching 540MB/s over a SATA 6Gb/s interface and random input/outputs (IOPS) at small block sizes reaching 130,000.

Nitro N2 is offered in a wide range of storage densities from 100GB to 800GB utilizing industry standard Single Level Cell (SLC) NAND Flash based on the latest 2Xnm process technology, or densities to 1.2 and 1.6 Terabyte utilizing the lastest 2Xnm Enterprise Multi Level Cell (eMLC) NAND flash technology. This allows the highest possible densities in smaller form-factors and higher device-level performance than storage devices built using older lithography techniques.
